Our elegant 32,000 square foot and all-inclusive venue creates an ideal experience. The Victorian mansion boasts impressive 22-feet-high cathedral ceilings, a grand staircase with a curved balcony from Governor William P. Hobby’s mansion and a one of a kind crafted Tiffany Chandelier. Also featured inside is the original Sleigh from the Five Academy Award-winning 1965, ‘Dr. Zhivago.’ The lush courtyard and expansive outside area is shaded by over 200-year old Oak tree canopies, providing an ideal place to hold your special event.

Story Behind Heaven on Earth

Since opening as an event venue in 1970, it has been host to over 15,000 weddings, corporate retreats and other events. Originally a three-room cottage, the estate has continued to grow and transform. Heaven On Earth is one of Houston’s most successful wedding venues and it has even been nicknamed as one of Texas’ best-kept secrets.


In 2013, Tamara Vogt Smith, became the fourth owner of Heaven on Earth since 1898. As a successful entrepreneur, Tamara has used her expertise to create a dream venue. After the devastating effects of Hurricane Harvey in 2017, Tamara was determined to return the venue to its previous splendor. The home’s beauty was expertly restored and classic architecture was maintained, while also updating it with modern touches.


About the Owner

Tamara Vogt Smith is a successful and dynamic, entrepreneur. She has taken the past and used her expansive innovative approaches to turn her dreams into reality.


Presently, to showcase this magnificent piece of art, her ultimate as inspirations are to continue to ignite her passion for sharing her promise, where all are welcome.


Being dedicated to her ideals of Faith, Hope, and Love, this high achiever, who formerly owned and operated Mario’s Flying Pizza in Sea brook and Webster, Texas, and Grand Finale Catering in tandem, also raised a son and a daughter. Tamara is a natural born “nourisher” – feeding other’s bodies and spirits. She is also known as one of “Houston’s Hero”, as she has provided food for the children at the Ronald McDonald House, hurricane victims, our Armed Forces and so many more. This inventive and restorative journey has allowed her to shine, and shine she does.


Her positive attitude and genuine communication style continue to draw lasting relationships with all who encounter her level of humility, integrity, and genuine hospitality.
